An integrated geochemical and mineralogical investigation on soil-plant system of Pinus halepensis pioneer tree growing on heavy metal polluted mine tailing

چکیده
The plant species Pinus halepensis grows spontaneously on heavily polluted mine tailings dumps of Campo Pisano (Sardinia, southwestern Italy). area is characterized mainly by Zn, Pb, and Cd. Sampling campaign was done, related to soils materials (roots, barks, wood, needles), aimed at evaluating the main mineralogical characteristics, metal content, accumulation, translocation behavior. substrates were composed pyrite, dolomite, calcite, quartz, gypsum, barite with iron sulfate, oxide. Zn ore minerals (smithsonite) muscovite detected mostly in deeper soil layers. most abundant substrate as well tissues. Roots accumulated high concentrations (664.65–2710 58.39–735.88 4.86–11.02 mg kg−1 Cd) reflecting contamination soil. biological accumulation values reported below one for all Cd Translocation Factor (TF) needles ranged 0.03–0.32, 0.03–0.19, 0.04–0.14. Biological Concentration (BCF) estimated up 0.17, 0.18, 0.19, respectively. results indicate that P. an excluder, tolerates concentrations, restricts their aerial parts may be applied long-term phytostabilization revegetation processes abandoned tailing sites.

15 صفحه اولCulturable Heavy Metal-Resistant and Plant Growth Promoting Bacteria in V-Ti Magnetite Mine Tailing Soil from Panzhihua, China
To provide a basis for using indigenous bacteria for bioremediation of heavy metal contaminated soil, the heavy metal resistance and plant growth-promoting activity of 136 isolates from V-Ti magnetite mine tailing soil were systematically analyzed. Among the 13 identified bacterial genera, the most abundant genus was Bacillus (79 isolates) out of which 32 represented B. subtilis and 14 B. pumil...

Ahangaran lead-zinc mining area located in the west part of Iran is a mountainous region. In this study, medical plants and soils from 3 different sites in this area were collected in spring 2012. Soil and medical plants were analyzed for heavy metals [lead (Pb), zinc (Zn), cadmium (Cd) and copper (Cu)] concentrations using inductively coupled plasma (ICP) optical emission spectrometer (Varian ...
متن کاملGeochemical fractions of rare earth elements in soil around a mine tailing in Baotou, China
Rare earth mine tailing dumps are environmental hazards because tailing easily leaches and erodes by water and wind. To assess the influence of mine tailing on the geochemical behavior of rare earth elements (REEs) in soil, sixty-seven surface soil samples and three soil profile samples were collected from different locations near China's largest rare earth mine tailing. The total concentration...
